Country-by-country support with new multimedia and print communication products

July 15, 2018

We love to sing Aflasafe’s praises – but to effectively spread the word, we need country-specific training, marketing and awareness-raising materials in many tongues, in harmony with our voices. This compendium of communication materials is a crucial cornerstone in ATTC’s support to our commercialisation partners on the ground. We are continually working on expanding our range for more countries, and translating our primary products into local languages and contexts to ensure none in our target audiences is left behind.

For the recent official launches, we prepared both a how-to leaflet and pictorial pamphlet for Burkina Faso, as well as how-to leaflet and pictorial pamphlet for Ghana. In Burkina Faso we worked on these print products with our distribution partner, Eléphant Vert, thus giving them dual branding from the start. This co-branding also means that Eléphant Vert has ready-made communication products for initial marketing purposes where more depth of information than standard marketing communication is required. We also spruced up the ATTC brochure and our introductory Q&As in both English and French. For the small screen, we produced new videos on how and why to use Aflasafe for both Burkina Faso and Ghana, which had their premiere at the launch events. The videos are now undergoing a few final pre-publication touch-ups and will be on our YouTube channel and video page soon!

In Kenya, to complement the text leaflet on how to use Aflasafe, we now have a three-in-one training suite in action providing richer visual aids. The new suite comprises an illustrated manual, pictorial pamphlet, and re-usable wall banner. The manual was adapted from the existing West Africa version, and more are planned for other countries, regions or languages as each case requires.

In Nigeria, we have expanded our range of how-to leaflets to include both Igbo and Pidgin, meaning that we now have both how-to leaflets and videos in five languages. Our distribution partner, Harvestfield, is already using these products as is for marketing – rebranded with their own logo alongside ours – an indication that our messaging works well for a private-sector partner.

In Senegal and The Gambia, we are working with local companies on marketing materials for use in Quarter 3, during the current cropping season. We are close to finalising a 90-second radio message based on our new video trailer, adapted for Senegal and Aflasafe SN01, as well as two videos, one for business-to-business and one how-to for farmers. This is another realisation of our goal to create a core set of advocacy and training materials that serve as a foundation for ATTC’s private-sector partners to adopt, adapt and shape into their own marketing materials.

There is lots more to come, so watch this space! Multimedia | Resources | Aflasafe where I am
